Lacrosse Meeting:

We will have a meeting for the parents of boys interested in playing lacrosse this spring on Thursday 2/28 at 7:30pm in the Upper School library.

The meeting is informational about the season, and a chance for the coaches to answer questions.  See you there.

Attention all players and parents. See IMPORTANT information from Coach Edwards on the Spring LAX Team Trip. We want to be sure all the freshman are getting this information so please, if you know and see freshman players lets followup.

Baltimore Trip During Spring Break

Once again, our team will travel to Baltimore for a spring training trip during the second week of MKA's spring break. We will have no formal practices during the first week of spring break to allow for much deserved, and non-conflicted family vacations.

About the trip:

First, this is a voluntary trip. All Upper School players are welcome and encouraged, but not required, to attend. Historically, most of the boys make the trip, including freshman. We have a good freshman turnout this year, and I hope many will be able to join us. We will travel by bus to Baltimore on Sunday morning 3/17. We'll practice at Towson State University, stay in a hotel just off the TSU campus, take in a college game, and scrimmage one of the better high school teams in the Baltimore area. Cost for the trip is $500. This includes all expenses associated with the trip. We will return to MKA Wednesday evening 3/20. Our goals for the trip are to prepare for the season, build team chemistry, and a subtle byproduct is a visit to a college campus for your sons.

I am approaching deadlines for rooming lists, etc. Please email me directly no later than February 18th at pedwards08@mac.com to let me know if your son will be participating (yes or no). If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. More information will be coming about particulars as we get closer to our travel dates.

This year, the MKA business office will charge your MKA account directly for the cost of the trip should you choose to attend.

Additionally, through the hard work of Tom Nammack and the MKA Board of Trustees we are once again able to offer financial assistance this year to athletes who want to travel with their respective teams on spring break. For further information please contact Sarah Rowland directly, as soon as possible.
