Coach Edwards will like you all to be aware of the following:
Coaches,
The Face Off Clinic described below needs two more players. It will be a great event and I am sure that it will be well worth it for your face off players. Please pass information on to your players. Our first session is Sunday, October 21 so time is urgent for the sign ups to be completed. Have interested players and parents contact me at mwebster@pingry.org

Thanks,
Mike Webster

Coaches and players,

I am working with Matt Schomburg to set up a series of off-season face off clinics. Matt is the premier face off instructor on Long Island and he will be offering in New Jersey a once a month clinic on Sunday mornings. Go towww.fogolax.net for more info on “Schommy”. Schommy works for STX and due to his work travel and his family commitments he can only commit to a two hour session once a month. IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!!!

He is limiting the number of players so that each player will get proper coaching. Each player will need to bring $50 each session. All participants are asked to attend all six sessions for a total of $300. All sessions will be at The Pingry School on the turf field and will start at 8am Sunday mornings. These sessions are for players who are making a serious commitment to improving. IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!!!

Dates are as follows: 10/21,  11/11,  12/9,  1/13,  2/10,  3/3. (8:00-10:00am) Light snow and cold will not stop the sessions.

If you have a player interested, please have them email me with their name, grade, email address and cell phone number so that I can set up Matt’s list.

Remember, there is a limit of participants so have your players reply ASAP. This will fill up quickly. IT WILL BE WELL WORTH IT!!!

Coach Edwards would like all of you to know the details for Al.  Flowers have been sent from the MKA lacrosse team to the funeral home.

Albert “Al” Rehus (1949 – 2012)

On Wednesday September 26, the Montclair Kimberley Academy community lost a very special member of our family as Albert “Al” Rehus, MKA’s Upper School Director of Security, passed away.

Al was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend to hundreds, if not thousands. MKA has lost a wonderful and genuine man who always brought a smile to peoples faces and who always put the needs of others before his own.  He was the rock upon which we all relied and was always there for us, whether we realized it or not.

Al loved MKA and the student athletes and coaches with whom he worked. Van Brunt Field and the Fairleigh S. Dickinson Jr. Gymnasium were his homes away from home and he made sure that they was ready for our student athletes each and every day. His impact on others went far beyond the classroom or the fields and although he is gone, he will never be forgotten.

From this point forward, the 2012 MKA Fall Athletic season is dedicated to our friend, Al Rehus.
