Just a quick update on the Relay for Life fundraising. We have raised $300 in donations and there are another $500 pledged. There are a few updates on last weeks post about Relay for Life:
1. Online Donations: If you would like to make a quick and easy donation online, our team has a home page. The directions to donate are as follows: log on to www.relayforlife.org , select the “get involved” menu, select “donate”, select “donate by team”, search “MKA Boys lacrosse”, and then you will be at the homepage where you can donate or join the team if you would like to walk.
T-Shirts: We are ordering custom MKA lacrosse Relay for Life t-shirts. They are $15 each. Please email me at mkahockey19@gmail.com if you would like to order a t-shirt, the deadline is this Thursday (5/3).
3. Walking Fee: If you do not plan on donating but would like to walk, there is a $10 entrance fee that is payable at the door.

MKA Lacrosse Schedule for week of 4/30

First of all, a thank you from our players and coaches to all who contributed to a wonderful Senior Day on Saturday.
The decorations, tailgate, and enthusiastic attendance really made for a great experience for our Seniors and their families. Special thanks to the Kingsley's and thier guests. Tailgate Pro's!!
Thank you all.
Secondly, be aware that the parking at St. Peters Prep is difficult. I went there to scout on Saturday morning and drove around for about 20 minutes before I found a spot. Please allow ample time, and you may want to consider some car pooling if you're planning to attend.
Third, as we enter tournament time, our schedule becomes more unpredictable. Games are not determined until after seeding meetings, and sometimes moved to avoid conflicts, etc. This week our only scheduled game is on Wednesday vs. St. Peters Prep. The Essex County tournament will be seeded Wednesday night and we may have a game on Saturday. We also may move our Prep game from Monday to Sunday depending on what schedule comes out of the counties. All up in the air at this point, but to be determined during the course of the week. I ask for you understanding and flexibility.

Time: 12:45pm, Game starts at 2:00pm; Senior Ceremony at 1:45pm
We are looking for a few more volunteers to help, please email Teri Karole at tjkarole@aol.com if you are interested. Many thanks to those who have already volunteered to help out!!
We expect about 100 people - parents and friends before the game and players and coaches after the game.
What We still need:
- Grill: We have one, would like one more
- Salads: Looking for 2 or 3 more
- Deserts: Looking for 3 or 4 more
- Paper Products: (Have some leftovers from last tailgate; need a volunteer to cover another 50)
- Soft Drinks and Waters: Have a couple cases of water, looking for a few more

Need Help for Relay for Life!!
All:Our senior John Kubinak is organizing a boys lacrosse team to participate in the Relay for Life fundraiser.
I think it would be great if our Lax family at both the Upper and Middle school levels could get behind him on this.
A great way to show the community the strength of our programs both on and off the field.

MKA Lacrosse Family:Relay for Life is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the American Cancer Society. The town of Montclair will have its 3rd annual relay this year from May 19th -20th at the Middle School Campus. Ms. Jennings, our academic dean, is the director of the relay for Montclair this year. She has assigned me with the task of pulling together a lacrosse "team." The basic idea of the relay is to get a "team" together, raise money before the relay, and then on the night of the relay, the goal is to have at least one person from every team walking on the track at once. There are two ways you can help this years MKA Lacrosse team: 1. Participation - you can choose to join our team and help raise money as well as walk with us in May. 2. Trinity Pawling Game Information
A clarification on the Tinity Pawling game this Sunday The lacrosse game will be played on the football field which is on the left across the street from the school. There is parking just past the field. If the lot is full, parking is available along the side of the road leading up to the main school building.

Remember to join us for a great day of lacrosse at Trinity Pawling on Sunday, April 15th at 1:30 pm. Team needs a great show of support for what will be a competitive game.
Players need to be at the school by 10am SHARP for the bus ride up.
Directions:
From NYC and South:
Take interstate 684 North to the end. Just after 684 ends, Interstate 684 will turn into Route 22 North. Take Route 22 North and proceed 13 miles until you pass under a brick and cement footbridge that spans the road. Immediately after passing under the footbridge, turn right into the school's driveway and proceed up the hill.www.trinitypawling.org
All players, families and fans are invited for a pre- and post-game tailgate hosted by the Kingsley family for both teams.

MKA will travel to Trinity Pawling (TP) on Sunday, April 15th for a
1:30 game.
The Kingsleys, who will have a son playing for each team, have generously volunteered to host a pre- and post-game tailgate for both teams. If you are interested in attending and/or bringing drinks or a desert, please email Gail Kingsley at GailK7585@aol.com.
TP is about an hour and a half away.
Address is 700 Route 22, Pawling, NY;
Game is played on the football field which is on the left, the school is on the hill to the right.

Message from MKA on Athletic Equipment Storage
From MKA to all Spring athletes..... Message out to our spring athletes.... the drop off area adjacent to the Locker Lounge (before the steps going to the Learning Lab) is NOT for athletic equipment. Currently there is tennis equipment, boys and girls lacrosse equipment. Students can store their equipment behind the bleachers in the gym NOT in this wing of the building; there is just not enough space.
